The World Association for Vedic Studies (WAVES) held their Eleventh Bi-Annual International Conference at Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in the US from July 31 to August 3. The theme of this year's conference was ''Vedic Living in a Modern World.''
Over 100 speakers gave presentations on topics such as yoga, natural medicine, higher states of consciousness, and reflections on the various Vedic texts. About half the scholars represented MUM, while the other half came from the US, India, Canada, and Holland.
''The WAVES Board of Directors proclaimed that this was one of the most successful WAVES conferences ever,'' said Dr. Candace Badgett, chairperson of GMDO in the United States, and one of the principal organizers of the conference.
