Expanding programmes in education and architecture are helping promote peace, progress, and an ideal quality of life in Canada.

Consciousness-Based Education has been introduced into eight schools in Canada during the past year, including a large school in one of the western provinces, where a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Programme is employed full-time. Meanwhile, an established Maharishi School in Victoria, British Columbia continues in its 22nd year.

The number of people learning Transcendental Meditation in Canada has increased by 30 per cent over the last year, adding to the effect of rising coherence in national consciousness produced by the increasing number of students practising the technique.

In addition, a Vastu community, in which all homes are being built according to Maharishi Vedic architecture, is growing rapidly on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. Twelve housing lots have been sold in the last year.

Sixty residents practise Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, creating still another influence of peace and harmony in the nation.
